Please see below for information regarding the start of the fall sports season. This information was also communicated via SchoolMessenger.
I wanted to share with you the latest information that I have in regards to fall sports. MSHSAA recently released that all schools that are virtual can participate in sports as determined by their local health department. Along with being affiliated with MSHSAA, University City High School is also a member of the St. Louis Suburban Public High School Athletic and Activities Conference (Suburban Conference). The Suburban Conference Executive Committee had an emergency meeting this morning on Thursday, August 6th. It was decided in this meeting that Suburban Schools should take a brief pause from fall sports and evaluate best practices for integrating our student athletes back into athletics and activities this fall in the safest possible way. Therefore, we will not be starting back with Athletics on August 10th as previously thought. The details of how we are going to transition back into athletics will be forthcoming. A full statement from the Suburban Conference can be found at the end of this letter.
I understand the uncertainty about fall sports. The School District of University City and the Suburban Conference want to ensure the safest environment for both your student athlete and the students that we play in competition. We will update you with information as they become available.
